5-6% bleach is a common bleach concentration used for household cleaning purposes. It effectively sanitizes surfaces, removes stains and sanitizes areas. The sodium hypochlorite generator main part is the ion membrane electrolytic cell, it is mainly composed of an anode, a cathode, an ion exchange membrane, an electrolytic cell frame, and a conductive copper rod. The unit cells are combined in series or parallel to form a complete set of equipment. The anode is made of titanium mesh and coated with titanium and ruthenium oxides to enhance corrosion resistance and efficiency, while the cathode is made of nickel; Ionic exchange membranes (such as cation exchange membranes) selectively allow sodium ions to pass through and isolate the anode and cathode compartments.

 

Membrane electrolyzer cell is capable of electrolyzing salt and water to produce chlorine gas and caustic soda, and then further produce home or industrial use bleach sodium hypochlorite.

 

Working principle and application

Based on the selective permeability of cation exchange membranes, when electrolyzing saturated saline solution, chlorine gas is generated at the anode, hydrogen gas is released at the cathode, and sodium hydroxide is discharged through the cathode chamber, significantly improving product purity. This technology is widely used in the chlor alkali industry to reduce energy consumption and pollution.
